Glenn Meltzer is President and a principal of The Ezra Company. His expertise is the analysis, structuring and negotiation of real estate transactions on behalf of the tenant or buyer.
Since joining the firm in 1985, Mr. Meltzer has been in the forefront of the company’s growth. With 35 years of business and management experience, he has become a valuable resource to the firm and a respected broker in the commercial real estate arena. Mr. Meltzer has contributed to major innovative management techniques for The Ezra Company including the implementation of a company training program that utilizes his knowledge of analyzing, structuring and negotiating real estate transactions to optimize the company’s service in tenant representation.
Mr. Meltzer’s ability to identify and implement creative solutions to long range real estate requirements has enabled him to establish solid working relationships with both regional and national corporations, law firms and associations. His transactions include leasing, purchasing, build-to-suit development and tenant equity participation. Mr. Meltzer’s experience includes the negotiation of advantageous limited partnership agreements as well as limitation of partnership liabilities in law firm leases. In addition, his expertise in the revision and negotiation of lease documents has been praised by seasoned real estate attorneys throughout the country.
Mr. Meltzer has written articles for The Greater Washington Board of Trade News, Washington Business Properties Magazine and The Washington Lawyer on topics of Alternatives of Leasing and Owning Office Space, Escalating Rental Rates and Real Estate Trends in the Washington Metropolitan area and negotiating office leases in today’s market. Mr. Meltzer has also been quoted by the national publication, U.S. Real Estate Week, for articles on the Washington area real estate market. Mr. Meltzer has spoken on various real estate topics at the RealShare Conference, American Society of Association Executives Conference, DC Marketing Center seminar and numerous board meetings for association clients.
Attending The American University School of Business Administration, Mr. Meltzer graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S.B.A. He received special honors as “Outstanding Marketing Student” graduating Number One in the class of 1976 and was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi honor fraternity.
Mr. Meltzer’s professional membership affiliations include the Washington, D.C. Association of Realtors, The Washington Area Commercial Brokers Council, The National Association of Realtors, the Urban Land Institute, D.C. Building Industry Association, and the Washington D.C. Board of Trade. Mr. Meltzer also sits on the Board of the DC Advisory Council.
Honored annually for his career accomplishments by The Washington Area Commercial Brokers Council, Mr. Meltzer has been designated as one of the Washington Metropolitan area’s top commercial real estate professionals. Mr. Meltzer consistently receives the Power Broker Award for leasing transactions from CoStar Group/Commercial Property News. Mr. Meltzer also received the Leasing Transaction of the year award from the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors as well as the Top Commercial Real Estate Broker in both Washington DC and the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia Region.
